He is not here, but He has risen…” Luke 24:6

What is the reason for Messiah and why is Good Friday and Easter such a big deal?

Messiah, Jesus, had to come and intercede, to mediate, substitutionally on our behalf for we could not save ourselves. Paul writes that, “we have all sinned… and the wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life, in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 3:23; 6:23). This is what we ultimately celebrate and why – His death leads to our eternal life!

And that brings me to Easter week – Good Friday and Easter… On Good Friday we remember He died – for us. However, at Easter, we celebrate that He came alive again; resurrected from the dead

The Biblical narrative reveals that there were many eye witnesses of both his death and his subsequent resurrection. Over 500 people gave a firsthand account of seeing Jesus alive. This is why believers celebrate the hope of resurrection at funerals and rejoice, worldwide, during Holy week. We REJOICE and celebrate Good Friday and Easter – “saying goodbye and hello again” – “Goodbye” to the punishment of sin through the death of The Savior and “hello again” as we give boisterous celebration of Jesus’ resurrection, which guarantees our own!

Praise God for this indescribable gift!

Happy Easter, all!
