“Above all, be strong and very courageous… Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:7-9

All men dream of being heroes, but few know what it will take or how to get there.  God created men to be strong leaders and courageous heroes, and that is why deep down every man dreams of himself as the hero!  And not just being a hero as defined by scoring the winning goal!  Heroes are individuals who act in a moment of time on a need greater than they are.  Given time to reflect most men would admit that some things are more important than life itself.  Soldiers give their lives for causes they deem more valuable than themselves.  Most husbands and fathers would give their life for their wife and children in a heartbeat.

Yet, in the quest for self-fulfillment, self-awareness and self-gratification, a huge number of men have lost what it means to be a man — a strong leader and courageous hero.  So in frustration men have succumbed to the stresses of life, losing ideals to immoral, unethical and/or irresponsible actions.

The strength of a man is in his moral fiber and resistance always proves strength!  A man’s inner strength determines his ability to withstand temptation, accusations, persecutions, seductions, lies, addictions, and other pressures that work to weaken his manhood.  We must have the inner strength to stand against wrong as well as stand up for what is right.

Only one man exemplified perfectly the traits of manhood so elusive to us today. Jesus Christ taught men that only by losing one’s life would one truly gain it.  By His example and teachings, He left us the principles found in the Bible that will make us courageous heroes and strong leaders!

God does not expect perfection, but desires that we lean fully on Him for strength and courage!  For men this is not easy, but to be men, we must regain the spirit of manhood in virility and integrity, the power of manhood in productivity and leadership, and the conviction of manhood in resolve and moral excellence.  Bottom-line we must acquire a long lasting taste for truth if we sincerely desire to maximize our manhood!

Men what’s your dream?   Are you willing to maximize your manhood?
